Authorities in Markham, Ontario, are actively searching for a 28-year-old woman who went missing from her home overnight. The York Regional Police have launched an appeal for information as they investigate her disappearance.

The woman was last seen between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. at her residence located near Highway 7 East and Birchmount Avenue. According to police, her family has expressed concern, stating that her disappearance is highly unusual and they have no idea where she might have gone.

Constable James Dickson, speaking to reporters, emphasized the extensive resources being deployed in the search. «We have committed a large number of officers and other resources to the search, as we go through buildings and parks in the Markham neighbourhood,» he stated. The area presents challenges for the search teams due to its multiple-storey buildings and expansive green spaces.
«This area is quite difficult for our officers to search,» Dickson added. The police are particularly interested in obtaining any surveillance footage that might show the woman after she left her home, which could provide crucial information regarding her whereabouts or description.
