Far-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos is currently in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and is facing a final order of removal from the United States, according to U.S. officials and agency records.
Yiannopoulos, a British national, was apprehended in the New Orleans area and is being held at a Louisiana ICE facility. A spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Yiannopoulos entered the U.S. legally in 2019 but subsequently overstayed his visa, violating immigration laws.
On July 22, an immigration judge issued a final order of removal after Yiannopoulos failed to appear for his immigration hearing. The DHS confirmed that he will remain in ICE custody pending his removal.

Reports indicate that Yiannopoulos was in New Orleans for a concert featuring the artist formerly known as Kanye West, now referred to as Ye. Yiannopoulos has previously collaborated with Ye on various political and corporate projects.
A DHS spokesperson commented on Yiannopoulos’ situation, stating, «Being in detention is a choice. We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport now.»
Yiannopoulos’ Controversial Views
Yiannopoulos has been a vocal supporter of ICE’s immigration enforcement initiatives. In June 2025, he advocated for ICE checkpoints at various public locations in California, suggesting immediate deportation for individuals unable to prove their legal status in the U.S. He has also called for total legal immunity for ICE agents while on duty.
In a series of social media posts, Yiannopoulos emphasized the importance of deportation, stating, «There is one concrete thing we must insist on this administration delivering. It matters a lot more than debts measured in imaginary money. We have got to deport millions and millions of people. Without that, nothing else matters.»
His previous controversial statements and actions have led to a ban from Twitter for several years due to hateful remarks against comedian Leslie Jones.
